Unacademy Refund Policy

Refund Policy:

This Refund Policy (“Policy”) is applicable to any subscriptions bought for the goal/category Unacademy Centers (“Subscription”) through the Unacademy Mobile Application (“Platform”) made available by M/s Sorting Hat Technologies Private Limited (“Company”), as well as any subscription fees paid on www.unacademy.com.

The terms and circumstances pertaining to the reimbursement of the Subscription Fee that a user or learner has paid on the Platform for the Subscription will be governed by this Policy. (“Partner”)

It is hereby made clear that this Policy is only applicable to the subscription to the stated aim and will not apply to any other subscriptions, products, or features made available on the Platform.

Read this policy together with any other available policies on the Platform, the Terms and Conditions, and the Privacy Policy. The “Platform Terms” The meaning assigned to any term in the Platform Terms will apply if it is not expressly specified here.

If, for any reason, the Subscriber is not satisfied with the Subscription and/or its terms and conditions, the Subscriber may request a refund of the Subscription Fee in writing to the Company (“Refund Request”). If the Refund Request is submitted within the “Refund Window(s)” listed below and is approved by the Company, the transaction is canceled and the Subscription Fee will be returned to the Subscriber in the manner specified herein, subject to any deductions that may be necessary in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in this Policy.

When a subscriber purchases a subscription for any of the batches that are featured on the platform and requests a Refund within the specified window, the company will reimburse:

  • 85% of the subscription fee paid in the event that a refund request is made within seven days of the batch starting.
  • 70% of the subscription fee paid in the event that a refund request is made within 30 days of the batch’s start.
  • If a refund request is made more than 30 days after the batch started, there will be no reimbursement of the subscription fee.

Refund requests related to payments made for subscriptions can only be considered in accordance with the guidelines outlined below. No refunds will be issued for any money paid by a person in order to register for a subscription.

There will be no reimbursements for Subscription Fees paid through any third-party loan financiers, regardless of what is stated above. On the other hand, the Subscriber may ask for the loan to be foreclosed. One may file a foreclosure request directly with third-party loan financiers or through the Company. If the request is brought up with the company, the company’s responsibility will be restricted to providing the data to the outside loan lender.

For any reason, including non-use or dissatisfaction with the batch or educators, the Company shall not be responsible for paying any refunds for any refund requests that it receives after the Refund Window has passed. The Company will have the exclusive right to determine whether to issue a full or partial refund to any Subscriber in relation to any Refund Requests it receives after the Refund Window has ended.

Within seven (seven) business days of receiving the request, the Company may get in touch with the Subscriber to confirm information in order to process the refund. As a result, a refund request must only be made using the subscriber’s registered phone number and email address. In order to be clear, a “business day” is defined as any day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, public holiday, or bank holiday in India or in the State in which the company has one or more offices.

The subscription cannot be canceled if the subscriber decides to keep up with it after submitting a Refund Request.

The same payment method that was used to pay for the subscription will be used by the subscriber to get their refund of the subscription fee. If there are any problems or mistakes when processing the payment to the source account, the Subscriber can be asked to provide the details of a different bank account along with the necessary paperwork, like a cancelled check, for verification. If, within 14 (fourteen) working days of the Company’s written request, the Subscriber does not furnish all the information (as may be required by the Company) regarding the alternative bank account, The Subscription Fee is not refundable by the Company.

The Subscription Fee will be refunded by the Company; however, there will be deductions for relevant taxes and interest. Although the Company makes every effort to deliver a first-rate educational experience, it retains the right to withdraw or cancel the refund in any situation in which we discover fraudulent activity linked to the Subscriber’s request for the refund and cancellation, including but not limited to breaking the Platform Terms and/or relevant laws. There won’t be another attempt to provide the subscriber a refund under such conditions.

Refund Policy for Subscriptions Made Online

Before committing to any of the subscription options, please carefully read the terms and conditions of the subscription since you will not be able to modify or cancel your subscription after you have signed up. Online memberships are final once you sign up and pay the requisite amount; there won’t be any adjustments or refunds made to the subscription beyond that point.

Platform:

Through a variety of modes and means, Content Providers can create and offer content in a variety of formats, including audio, video, pre-recorded video, live video, and/or written form in a variety of categories through the Unacademy Platform (“Content Provider Content”), which can then be published and made available to learners. In compliance with the Information Technology Act of 2000, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (as amended from time to time), and other comparable / comparable laws, Unacademy serves as a middleman between the Content Providers and the Learners, providing the Content Provider Content to the Learners, including through subscription offerings.

Sorting Hat Technologies Private Limited, a company incorporated under the (Indian) Companies Act, 2013, is the owner, manager, operator, and provider of the Platform in India. Its registered office is at Maruti Infotech Centre, 3rd Floor, A-Block, Domlur, Koramangala Inner Ring Road, Bangalore – 560 071, India (“Unacademy India”). Wherever Services are provided through the Platform in a jurisdiction other than India, Unacademy India and/or its affiliates are offering them (as applicable in accordance with relevant intragroup contractual arrangements).
