IGNOU Refund Policy

Refund of Fees:

University policy allow a student who has registered for a program to request for a refund of this registration fee as well as cancellation of the application or acceptance before admittance confirmation for full refund of the program fee.

Refund Policy:

  1. Although the registration fee is paid at the time that the student registers for classes, it is for this amount that tuition fees will be charged and it will be returned before admission is final.
  2. In case there is request of cancellation post admission confirmation, 15% of the course price shall be deducted from the fees paid excluding, however, the amount exceeding Rs. 2000/-.
  3. Only the cost of registration will be refunded to students who receive a soft copy of the SLM.
  4. Only the Development cost will be reimbursed upon receipt of a cancellation request from a student who has only paid the Registration and Development fees and has taken advantage of the fee exemption.
  5. If there are students that have not paid their fees after the admission deadline, no refund will be made after sixty days. The calendar date on which the request to cancel was made will be applied for variable calculation of remaining time.
  6. The amount of money will be refunded through NEFT after you provide student account details. Any candidate wishing to be released from such an agreement needs to make a letter or an email application to the appropriate Regional Director Registrar SRD requesting cancellation and reimbursement of costs incurred.
  7. All these fee refund policies will apply from the January 2023 academic entrance cycle.

Multiple payments were made for the refund programs resulting from failed attempted online payments, multiple prohibited programs over a single session.
For the future attempts, the ONE program fee accompanying the registration fee will be retained and refunded.
The student was NOT ACCEPTED and/or their application to the university was withdrawn, denied or terminated for failure to meet admission requirements, failure to acknowledge the studentโ€™s qualification, and/or failure to disclose relevant information as well as the studentsโ€™ decision to discontinue the program or the universityโ€™s decision to do so.This cost should in one way be retained by students depending with their preferred choice. Any registration fees paid will be adjusted off of the total as other incomplete program charges qualify for reimbursement. The registration fee as well as the other fees that constituent the full program fee can be refunded.

If a student cancels their application and requests a refund for their program due to their decision not to continue, the refund request is considered inappropriate.
