Refunds and cancellations

If you cancel within 24 hours after buying the ticket, you will receive a full refund provided you booked at least seven days in advance of your flight. Please contact our Global Contact Center or stop by a local office to request a refund.

Make an online refund request:

To seek a refund, go to etihad.com/manage as soon as possible.

Enter the information of your flight, then click “Cancel/refund” to proceed.

If you need additional assistance, we can put you in touch with a member of our team. Use our live chat feature to seek a refund. There could be a service fee.

Speak with your travel agent:

We advise getting in touch with the travel agency or other third party you used to book your flight in order to get a refund.

When can I expect my money back?

  1. Refunds will be applied to the original payment method you used. Within 21 days after making your credit or debit card payment, you should get your refund. Refunds for all other payment methods may take up to 45 working days to process.
  2. Get in touch with your bank first if, after 45 business days, you still haven’t received your return. Please contact us if the card you used to pay for your flight has expired or if you still haven’t received your refund after that time.
  3. If you made a credit card reservation with Etihad Airways, enter your booking reference in the space provided below to see if you qualify for a refund. If not, give us a call
  4. or speak with your travel agent to learn more.
  5. Whether or not you have flown during any portion of your trip will determine how much of your return you receive. There can be fees and charges.
  6. All direct reservations made with Etihad Airways are subject to a 24-hour cancellation policy.

Refunds and modifications:

You can contact our Contact Center by phone or online to amend or cancel your reservation. The terms and conditions, general conditions of carriage, and any applicable fees and charges (such as, but not limited to, ticket fare rules and guest service fee) apply to all reservations, including changes and cancellations.

  • Change fees change according to the fare brands you have chosen. The most restrictive fare guidelines will be in effect if you have chosen more than one fare brand when making your reservation.

You have up to two hours before departure to exchange your reservation(s). For qualifying reservations made online and paid for with a credit or debit card, refund requests may be made up to two hours prior to departure, five days after the ticket is issued.

If you are a visitor in the United States and you made your travel arrangements at least seven days in advance of the planned departure date and time, you have up to 24 hours to cancel your reservation and get a full refund.

Fees for adjustments and cancellations:

  • There can be a cost to modify or cancel your flight, depending on the route and pricing that you have purchased:
  • If you have reserved more than one fare, the most restrictive fare rule will be in effect.
  • Should you need to cancel, your refund will be determined by the original ticket’s fare policies.
  • Within ninety-six hours of your flight, any changes or cancellations will result in an extra 10% charge.
  • In the sad event that a guest or a member of their immediate family passes away, you won’t be assessed a change or refund fee (formal paperwork is necessary)
  • You will be assessed a no show and change fee if you are unable to make your flight. In the event that you are going to miss your flight, please notify us as soon as possible. Your flight back or forward can be canceled if you don’t.

Online flight changes and cancellations

Using Manage your booking is the quickest and most straightforward way to make changes to your reservation. Make reservations for more luggage, special assistance, or a seat change, including one with extra legroom. Put in a bid for an upgrade, buy an Economy Neighbour-Free seat, add your Etihad Guest membership number, and update your contact and passport details. Recall that you cannot modify or cancel your reservation if your flight is leaving in less than four hours.

This service does not impose a global service fee on you.

Considerations before you make a reservation cancellation:

  1. Verify that your ticket is refundable (with or without cancellation fees) and has not been used.
  2. Your ticket can only have been purchased with a single credit card and issued more than five days ago.
  3. Refunds and cancellations are irreversible.
  4. Refunds are governed by fare regulations. Reissued tickets will be subject to the maximum charge.
  5. Your bank might impose extra processing costs.
  6. The card you used to purchase your ticket will immediately be credited with your refund; if you no longer have this card, please contact us.
  7. It takes seven to forty-five business days for your bank statement or card to see a refund.
  8. Extras and International Service The costs are not refundable.

What is the Service Fee amount?

There will be a one-time, non-refundable cost of USD 30 for all new reservations, ticket modifications, and refunds. All tickets, including those for children and infants, will now include this. The policies listed below are also applicable:

  1. The route and the tariff regulations of the ticket you have booked may apply to a change fee. The original ticket’s fare rules govern all refunds.
  2. The most restricted refund fare rule will be applicable if you have booked numerous fares.
  3. Changes or cancellations made within four hours of departure may be subject to no-show fines.
  4. If you anticipate missing a flight, kindly notify us as soon as possible to avoid having your return or further travel plans canceled. There will be a change cost and a no-show fee.
  5. In the sad event that a guest or a member of their immediate family passes away, change and refund fees are waived (official documentation is necessary)
  6. The Residence, First and Business class reservations are referred to as premium.
  7. Service fees are represented by the values, which should only be used as a reference.
  8. When you make a change or request a refund, you will be informed of any additional fare penalties, which are determined by the fare rule.
